YafaRay is a free open-source raytracing engine. Raytracing is a rendering technique for generating realistic images by tracing the path of light through a 3D scene.
YafaRay forums memeber exvion has created an exporter to render Google SketchUp scenes with YafaRay.

SU2Yafaray is on heavy development
But Yafaray itself seems to be tied with Blender exclusively (there is no stand-alone executable at its download page.) So how is it to be used with SU?
You know, that's a good question. I'm not positive, but I think yafaray can be used from the command line to render the output from the SketchUp exporter.
