Plugin: Selector

I almost forgot about his one. It's one of the first demos I wrote using the new (at the time) WebDialogs for SketchUp version 6.

It displays a dialog (shown) and simply selects and de-selects based on entity types.

I'm not sure how useful it is as it's written, but it could be built upon; if anyone sees potential.

SketchUp Cool #2

I'm sure many of you have seen the Uno, a unicycle-motorcycle-segway hybrid designed an built by 18 year old Ben J. Poss Gulak? What you might have missed is that it was designed using.. you guessed it, Google SketchUp.

More 3D Warehouse Updates

The 3D Warehouse made another significant update: access control.

You can make a model collection public, or private.

This means that you can now add collaborators or restrict viewers for any collection you own. To do so, just click the "share" link on your collection's "details" page. Collaborators can add and remove items in your collection; they can also edit details such as its name and description. And if you make a collection "not-publicly-viewable", only people you choose can see it.

WiP: Random Jitter

Triangulates groups, and moves vertices a in a random direction. This images shows a cube with increasing amounts of "jitter"

Not sure what to call this effect. "Jitter" is sort of used in SketchUp. Distort?

WiP: Custom Toolbars

Currently working on a custom toolbar plugin for SketchUp. Here's a shot of currently working commands. Sketchy Icons created by Nathan Cheever.

Toolbars are created from a simple text file of commands:

#
# Example Toolbar File
#
# A toolbar file is simply a text file containing a list of commands you want
# to appear on your toolbar. The # symbol denotes a comment and is skipped by the toolbar maker.
#
# The Toolbar filename must end in .txt. The name of the .txt file is used
# as the Toolbar name.
#
# Toolbar separators can be created using 3 dashes (---) on a line by themselves.
#
# You can create any reasonable number of custom toolbars, just create another .txt file
# in the same folder as this one. All available toolbars will be loaded.
#
# Commands are not case sensitive, but capitals can be used to help readability. For example,
# the following commands are identical:
#
# fileNew
# filenew
# FileNew
# Filenew
# FILENEW

fileNew
fileOpen
fileSave
---
select
eraser
line
rectangle
circle
---
pushpull
---
viewTop
viewFront
viewRight
viewIso
